Dragon Boat Festival Celebration

The Dragon Boat Festival, also named "Duanwu Festival", takes place on May 5 in Chinese lunar calendar. It is a folk festival for mourning the great poet Quyuan with a history of over two thousand years. Among the various celebrating activities, rice dumplings (Zongzi, the steamed glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves) and dragon boat races are important customs.

Mid-autumn Festival Lantern Fair

The Mid-autumn Festival Lantern Fair, held in Zhongshan Park, attracts lots of tourists every year. The lantern show is performed during the Mid-autumn Festival and lasts about one month.

Beilongkou Village Fair

Beilongkou Village Fair is a local traditional village fair held 6 times a month. Students can experience the life in Qingdao and practice Chinese by talking to the local people. 

Qingdao Old City Tour

Students can have a trip to the most famous scene spots in Qingdao, like May 4th Square, Olympic Sailing Center, Badaguan Scenic Area and No.2 Bathing Beach to enjoy the unique sea views.

Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition

Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition was held from April to October in 2014. With cultural originality, technological innovation and natural creation on show, now it is serving as the Qingdao Expo Park.

Qingdao Municipal Museum

Founded in 1965, Qingdao Municipal Museum is a great place to learn more about the history of the city. It has exhibitions about several different aspects of Qingdao, including Qingdao local history, ancient coins, ceramics in Ming and Qing Dynasties and Qingdao local folk customs. It is one of the China’s first batch of Class-I museums and a key unit for ancient books protection.

Qingdao(Tsingtao) Beer Museum

Qingdao(Tsingtao) Beer Museum combines a sense of century-old history with a truly modern setting. Visitors can learn the secrets of beer production, the long history of Tsingtao Beer and Qingdao International Beer Festival. Visitors can taste fresh Tsingtao beer and browse for kinds of souvenirs.
